Fans and media follow the moves and developments of Chris Brown’s personal life incessantly, but Chris rarely addresses it himself. Sure, he drops hints with social media messages from time-to-time, but it’s not often that he speaks on his private life in public.
While calling in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on 102.7 KIIS FM in Los Angeles to promote his new One Hell of a Nite Tour, though, Breezy did just that.
“I’m going to be honest and be a man about it and just take it one day at a time,” he said of his relationship with ex, Karrueche Tran, and what the future could hold for them. “I can’t promise anything or I can’t jump over the moon, but it takes time for all wounds. I take full responsibility for my actions and things that I’ve done in the past. I just feel like it’s just a time thing.”
And does he still have love for her?
“I’m not a hateful person,” he added. “Of course I still love her, but I’m just, mentally, right now, I think everything takes time. I just need to focus on being the best father I can be.”
He says he’s doing his best to make fatherhood his focus these days.
“There comes a time when people kind of have to grow up and become more of an adult and take on different responsibilities,” he said. “I think this was just a blessing in disguise with my daughter because I get a chance to look at her and teach her the right path and also be a father in my daughter’s life. Just to see a smile on her face, just to see the littlest things, is emotional for me. I just love that aspect of being able to be a father now.”
He gets her every other week, and mostly it’s daddy-daughter time, but she has met King, Tyga’s son. Playdates with other celeb babies like North West and Blue Ivy could be down the line, though.
We’ll need those pictures, too.
The One Hell of a Nite Tour kicks off on Aug. 12.
